Suzanne Whitcomb – City of Little Elm
Suzanne Whitcomb embarked on her GIS journey at the University of South Alabama, where she majored in Geography with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). It was during a class that illustrated the process of converting spreadsheet data into visually captivating maps that she found her passion for GIS ignited. Following graduation, Suzanne entered the private sector in Alabama, honing her GIS skills and gaining valuable experience. A move to Texas proved fortuitous, landing her a GIS Analyst position with the City of Fort Worth. It was here that she attained her Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) designation, marking a significant milestone in her career. Suzanne has spent the past 13 years managing the GIS team in the Town of Little Elm. In this role, she oversees various geospatial projects, ensuring the seamless integration of data for the town's benefit. Suzanne's leadership has been instrumental in enhancing local geospatial capabilities, showcasing the transformative power of GIS in community development.
